Selby’s Coaching Philosophy:

I have learned from previous coaches and my own experience that fundamental skills win volleyball games. As a coach, I like drills that force players to fine tune the basics, while allowing for a high number of contacts.

Physical fitness is another essential aspect of the game.   I truly believe that in order to play hard, you have to train hard. I’m okay with getting beat as a result of talent, but I am not okay with getting beat because we we're out of shape. Therefore, I always prefer to run drills that get the girls’ heartbeats up.

Most of all, I want my girls to know that I am here for them on and off the court.
