Sara is the 900.12.1 Assistant Coach for the 2009-2010 club season.
I have been playing volleyball for about 18 years now. Wow, that makes me feel really old! Anyway, I played in high school at Flower Mound Marcus and graduated in 1996. I played for North Dallas Juniors 18-Red for my sophomore, junior and senior seasons. After high school, I earned a full scholarship to play at Georgia Tech in Atlanta. I received my degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2000 and moved to Lexington, Ky to work for Lexmark. While in Lexington, I coached club for Lexington Select and I started a varsity/junior varsity volleyball program at Lexington Christian Academy (LCA.) I was at LCA for 4 years and saw the program go from 7-21 in our first year to 24-7 by the time I left. It was an amazing experience to watch that team improve year upon year. We made the Regional tournament the last two years I coached the team.
My husband and I moved to Houston in 2005 where I coached for Texas Elite for 2 seasons. In February '07, we moved back to Dallas. I helped out with TAV for the rest of that season. I took the next season off because we had our first child in November '07. Campbell Mae is the light of our lives and we feel so blessed to be her parents. Last season, I coached the 18 National team at Nitro.
I still play on an adult team out of Houston. We played in Nationals in New Orleans in '06 and Atlanta in '08. We took 2nd place in our division both years. I was on the All-Tournament team in 2006. Volleyball is my first love and I just can't seem to get enough of the game.
This is my first season at 900 and I know it will be a great one.
*Sara, Ranee Hoss (Lloyd) and Meredith Grady (Van Horn) played club volleyball together in 1991 & against each other in high school from 1992-1995. We are excited to have her at 900!
